My computer sits beneath the desk where it's nice and cool. The radiator in the background is permanently switched off and the window behind the desk (not in shot) is usually open so overheating isn't a problem. However, I also have a medium-sized fan (also not in shot) trained on them for when the weather's really hot.
This is my new (Dec. O6) computer from Scan. It's not as quiet as the Carillon was but it's much more powerful and has over 4 times the storage capacity on faster, yet quieter, HDDs plus I still have access to the original disks via a couple of USB caddies (see console shot) and use them for additional back ups. Eventually, as I move on to bigger premises, the PC, UPS and anything else that makes noise will be moved into a 'machine room' of their own.
